OVERVIEW
THE KOOTENAI NATIONAL FOREST HAS SOME OF THE BEST MOUNTAIN LION HUNTING IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS!
Northwest Montana and specifically the Kootenai National Forest has some of the best mountain lion hunting in the Rocky Mountains! Linehan Outfitting's crew of houndsmen and guides are some of the most experienced in the west. While there are no guarantees in hunting, especially when in pursuit of wild, free-range animals, our cougar hunts are pretty secure.
We have close to 500 square miles of prime mountain lion habitat in our hunting areas. Basically, we can pursue cougars through most of Montana’s northeast corner. Hunts are executed via 4-wheel-drive trucks, and our guests return to the lodge each evening.
Our lion hunting areas (100,103,104) offer over the counter tags and implement a quota on males and females for the season.
